OUR HISTORY

 Haveli Kalwara is a heritage hotel located in the heart of historic Old City of Jaipur. The city is well-known for its carefully planned layout, with many of its major monuments, attractions and markets situated in relatively close proximity to the Haveli.The property was initially built in the 17th century as a Rajput court house, however in the early 19th century, under the nobleman Jai Singhji; it was converted from a court-house into an exquisitely designed colonial mansion. At the dawn of the 21st century, the Kalwara family decided to open its gate and share the royal heritage & rich history of feudality with the outside world. Since then Kalwara mansion has served and acquainted thousands of travellers from around the world through family luncheons, high teas and dinners. This was shortly followed by opening up a wing of the mansion to others who wanted to soak in the experience of a heritage home stay.

You will find a relaxing oasis in the midst of the bustling market as soon as you step inside  the Haveli. The tastefully decorated rooms showcase the regal Rajputana architecture while providing all modern comforts.

Perched atop Haveli Kalwara, Dagla – The Rooftop is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Dagla, which means rooftop in the local Rajasthani dialect, is the place we go to enjoy soaking in the warm winter sun, catch the splendorous sunset and spend evenings under the open sky. Enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, with the majestic backdrop of the beautifully lit Nahargarh Fort nestled in the Aravalli Hills.
The menu has been crafted with care, celebrates not only the local flavours but also serves a delectable selection of world class continental cuisine to satisfy the cravings of the discriminating palate.

Cooking Classes by Chef Divya Kalwara

Many chefs make good food, but only a few do it with the homely feeling and passion that Chef Divya Kalwara radiates. Born of a royal bloodline, Divya did her schooling from Maharani Gayatri Devi School, Jaipur. She completed her masters in Psychology from Indraprastha College, Delhi University. Sharing a deep bond with food, she conditioned herself to become a professional chef, featuring in famed journals such as London Times and Washington Post. Having her cultural values deeply rooted in her, Divya’s cooking is very much inspired from her ancestry. Her mother and her grandma were her childhood teachers who taught her their famous traditional royal ‘Rajput’ recipes. Her mother in law also taught her some of her cooking secrets.’
